Trouble Shooting Newlong NP-7A, NP, NP7R
The Newlong NP-7A is a portable bag closer that uses a single thread chain stitch closure. The needle on this machine is prone to damage if it hits a hard seed, grain, or object inside the bag being stitched. The correct needle size for this machine is B01002. To replace the needle, follow these steps:

  1. Turn the machine off and unplug it.
  2. Remove the needle bar clamp nut.
  3. Lift the needle bar and remove the old needle.
  4. Insert the new needle, making sure that the concave part (identation) faces the looper.
  5. Tighten the needle bar clamp nut.
  6. Turn the machine on and check for proper stitching.

Here are some general troubleshooting tips for all machines:

  1. Check the threading of the needle and looper.
  2. If the stitch is loose, tighten the thread tension.
  3. If the stitch is skipping, adjust the needle tension.
  4. If the machine is making a clicking noise, it may need to be oiled.
  5. If the machine is not working at all, it may need to be repaired.
