The Newlong NP-7A is a portable bag closer that uses a single thread chain stitch closure. The needle on this machine is prone to damage if it hits a hard seed, grain, or object inside the bag being stitched. The correct needle size for this machine is B01002. To replace the needle, follow these steps:
- Turn the machine off and unplug it.
- Remove the needle bar clamp nut.
- Lift the needle bar and remove the old needle.
- Insert the new needle, making sure that the concave part (identation) faces the looper.
- Tighten the needle bar clamp nut.
- Turn the machine on and check for proper stitching.
Here are some general troubleshooting tips for all machines:
- Check the threading of the needle and looper.
- If the stitch is loose, tighten the thread tension.
- If the stitch is skipping, adjust the needle tension.
- If the machine is making a clicking noise, it may need to be oiled.
